This is technically an Amish made square Sewing Basket but we feel that it could easily double for a picnic basket. You just don't find baskets like this any longer except in the remote regions of the Amish communities. They are beautifully woven by sisters, Sarah and Lydia who live in Minnesota on their Amish farm.

Check this out. What a wonderful Mother's Day gift for that mom that loves to sew. Be sure to tell her that you just have to take the thread holder out to make it into a picnic basket. And then tell her that you'll cook for that day!
